This reminds me of a quote from the one and only Albus Dumbledore — "It is our choices, Harry, that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
I loved all of your points in this article, particularly what you say about reframing how you speak to yourself. It’s such a small change that has powerful results.
To join the 1%, I would also add these ideas to your list:
* Take action that’s aligned with that you deserve. (Instead of, “Ugh, the dishes have piled up in the sink and now I need to wash them again. Think: I deserve a nice, tidy kitchen and a clean sink. I’m going to make that happen.) (Sort of along the same lines as your obligation —> option point.)
* Have a clear goal in mind of where you want to go, but don’t worry so much about how you’re going to get there. The “how” has a way of working itself out in the wash.
* Be kind, always. Obviously this is great for personal reasons, but it can also have huge implications on your career. The best jobs don’t usually come from job boards, but from your network. Treat people with kindness, and they’ll have your back in return.
Awesome read. Thanks again for sharing.
